Le rendez-vous des copains — authentic French bistro with soul in Gueliz
Le Bistrot d'Amaia is a warm, brick-and-wood French bistro on Boulevard Hassan II, run by Olivier Zitoune with Chef Abdenbi 'Abdy' Ayathellah in the kitchen and Selma behind the bar. The team has built something genuine here — Olivier's hospitality draws a loyal crowd of Gueliz regulars, Abdy's cooking delivers refined French classics with Moroccan soul (his duck breast with cider vinegar and pineapple chutney is the signature), and Selma keeps the wine flowing from an impressive list of Moroccan and French natural wines you won't find elsewhere in the city. Draft beer on tap is a rare find in Marrakech. Live music most evenings. The lunch formulas from 135 MAD are among the best value French meals in town, while the evening a la carte (averaging 500 MAD per person) showcases the kitchen's full ambition. Closed Sundays.

“Olivier, Abdy, and Selma — these three make this place what it is. I end up here after most of my DJ sets because Olivier keeps the kitchen open late for friends. Order the duck breast, let Selma pick your wine, and sit at the bar. That's the real Bistrot d'Amaia experience.”
