Spanning three subterranean floors beneath the King's own palace hotel, Royal Mansour Spa is arguably the most exclusive spa in Marrakech and arguably the finest wellness address in Africa. The 2,500m² space is a world of its own — hushed corridors of hand-carved stucco, mosaic tiling executed over thousands of hours by master craftsmen, and a staff-to-guest ratio that makes you feel like the only person in the building. I've visited many of the great spas of Europe and the Middle East, and this one holds its own against all of them. The headline act is the world's first Chanel treatment room — the only one on the African continent — where the Sublimage La Crème facial uses Chanel's most prestigious skincare line in a dedicated suite finished with bespoke Chanel interiors. It needs to be experienced to be understood. The two traditional hammams are clad in hand-painted marble with 24-carat gold leaf accents: the hot room, the lukewarm room, the kessa scrub by a trained hammam attendant, then ghassoul clay mask and an argan oil finish. It's the hammam ritual as it was meant to be, not the tourist version. The heated indoor pool sits beneath a breathtaking orangery dome — natural light filtering through the glazed ceiling onto the water while you float in complete silence. Beyond the flagship experiences, there are 40+ treatments including Sisley facials, Atlas cedar massages, and hot stone therapies. Six private treatment suites each have their own relaxation garden with outdoor shower. The signature Royal Journey — a 4-hour sequence of hammam, ghassoul wrap, cedar massage, and Sisley facial — is the single best spa experience currently available in Morocco, and must be reserved 72 hours in advance. For non-hotel guests, day access is available and worth every dirham. In short, no other spa in Morocco comes close.
